The Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge line was test run last month.
Acting Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Engr. Fidel Okhiria, said a ticket would cost N900 for business class and N600 for standard class to Kaduna, adding that when fully operational, the train would run at 150km per hour.
“Nigerians are now making use of the train services for free and this will continue for two weeks. We started on June 21 with passengers. It will run everyday. The Abuja motor park union has agreed to have a motor park at the Idu station to convey commuters to and from the Idu train station to the city centre to make it very convenient for travellers,” he said.
