At a Kaduna Chief Magistrate’s Court 4 on Tuesday, Kyon argued that there was no need for the state government to feed schoolchildren in the state, stressing that the initiative was unconstitutional.
However, the Director of Litigation of the state Ministry of Justice, Sanusi Usman,who led the legal team for the defendant, said the plaintiff had no grounds to challenge the programme.
Chief magistrate, Mairo Muhammed adjourned the case till March 17, 2016 for hearing.
Parents of schoolkids have however declared support for the program.
