Ondo State: Mimiko, Ali Modu Sheriff Escape Death as Fire Guts Governor's Office

1. A fire outbreak has been reported at Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s office located at Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital.
   
   
   
   THE SUN reports that the incident happened during a visit from the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu-Sherif .
   
   Mimiko and Sherif, with their security aides, scampered for safety immediately the fire started. Valuables belonging to the state government were destroyed in the inferno.
   
   Men of the Ondo state fire service however succeeded in putting off the fire after a 30-minutes battle.
